Firescaping

Twenty-five percent of California’s population—about 10 million people—lives with the threat of losing their homes to a wildfire. Unfortunately, the threat of ignition/inflammation worsens every year.

Our firm has been working to create fire protected properties and communities since 1994. We have worked in hundreds of landscapes; helped develop persuasive education campaigns; and Doug has written the best selling book on homesite protection in the U.S.

Our Firescaping Services

Risk Analysis: Whether institutional and thousands of acres or residential and thousands of feet, we provide a comprehensive analysis of your site. Along with a deep examination of fuels and risk, we also investigate architectural elements, landscape health, weeds, irrigation, and risk of erosion.

Prescription for Risk Reduction: Fire protection is complicated. Biological diversity, erosion control, privacy, cooling and aesthetics are just some of the many services a landscape must provide. Our firm delivers a comprehensive fire protection prescription that embraces the demands of your site. A prescription is a document that includes both design and maintenance recommendations.

Public Education: We can help you motivate your community. We provide presentations and workshops on Firescaping throughout California. We also produce articles and images for any type of media. Our content works in any mode: webinars, videos, radio, print and in-person. Our firm has reached tens of thousands of people.
